Right now, I'm reading Dracula, by Bram Stoker of course.
I've meant to read this book for years, and have always gotten maybe 4 or 5 chapters in and quit. Part of this was due to my desire to read and finish the book in the month of October - since that's the spooky Halloween month for a spooky Halloweeny book like Dracula. But I never accomplished this, and so would drop it if I didn't finish.
This year, I started it again around Octoberish - except I kept reading this time! I wish I could have finished it by now but I've been way busy with work, school, and family. But I'm half-way through, so I'm making progress!
It's a good book. Kind of funny in some ways....the sensibilities are so thoroughly Victorian - in some ways representing a kind of naive sexism, yet at the same time, representing a forward thinking (at the time) idea of feminism/female empowerment (especially in the character of Mina)....anyway, really interesting book!
Plus, I love how it describes Dracula and his powers as a vampire. It's almost as if he's all-powerful - and all-powerful, evil characters are always the most frightening to me, the kind that seem practically invincible...yet there are just enough chinks in his superhuman invincibility to make him combatable by the far weaker living mortals.... but imagining being up against someone as powerful and cunning as Dracula is really kind of a terrifying thought!

Oh, I understand the most terrifying now... You like it to be terrified! Yes?

dunno that I necessarily like to be terrified but i enjoy interesting and engaging stories, and if they are terrifying, there is a kind of fascination in terror...

I don't like terror stories. Never listened movies with this effect also. Yet I like the suspense movies and books. We could ask what is the difference between both. Probably it depends of the effect on us because it is almost similar. We cannot say murders are not terrifying.
But Dracula is a story of another kind with question on eternal life.

too bad our brains couldn't be attached to a automatic computer that took our thoughts and actions down then translated into a book to read each year without us having to sit down to begin the ever long task of typing it all up.

Genesis speaks of the offspring of "the sons of God" and human women as being giants...now why would Genesis not say The sons of God were human?? seems the so called "sons of God" in Genesis were genetically different than humans??? I found it all to be very interesting..

weren't the giants considered the Anunnaki or are these women giants entirely different? If I come across that documentary I think I'll watch it. The Bible: past times of aliens and humans

HA! no I can't
But I do believe that there is a Mormon religion and people in that religion believe in Mormonism
I'd rather believe in synchronicity
