Damn, thats shitty. Didnt think nicole was like that. No way should some one be banned just for a different view than anothers. But its a little claim to fame for you lol, yeah, it's kinda fun to be part of the "banned by the band" club, haha.

I was a fan, liked them more than most bands. I guess as far as that goes theres nothing special about my story. The exception is the development of my mental illness and how it directly relates to the Oboard, but thats a story for another life.

It might be interesting but as it has destroyed my life its not meant to be entertaining. I cant say that what happened should have happened, I can only say that it did, and that my life has gone to shit for it.

Magical unicorndogs might have made it better

I think magical unicorndogs would probably make most things better.

I heard/saw the video for Today back in 1993, and a few months later I was at a friend's house who had the cassette of Siamese Dream which I listened to and was wowed, dubbed it , and kept up with the band since then.....21 years! What I love is the range of styles, emotional expression, and experimentation over the years. Also love finding rarities! Favourite album Siamese Dream

yeah, the quest for rarities is an eternal one :)The changing nature of SP is what I love, too.
Man, 1993. The world was so different then.

I had some awareness of SP before I knew of a band called the Smashing Pumpkins. KROQ played Rhinoceros from time to time back in 91. I liked that song but didn't know its name or the band back then. Around the same time, MTV's alternative show, I don't recall if it went by 120 Minutes or another name back then, played the video for Siva from time to time. Again I didn't know who the band was. I do recall not liking the whole painted faces and bathtub images and would actually turn it off when I saw it. Don't know why, it doesn't bother me now. But if you had showed me that video and asked me about that band back then, I would have said I didn't like them. Just based on the images, not the music.
Then I bought the Singles soundtrack in 92 and really dug Drown, particularly the extended feedback solo. That's when I first became aware of a band called the Smashing Pumpkins. I didn't know it was the same band that did Rhinoceros or Siva until after SD came out in 93.
Now SD was a revelation to me. I was in my late 20's at the time. I think most people find their favorite band before that age. For me, I was all over the place. I was very into hard rock growing up. Led Zep, Queen, Rush, bands like that. Then I got into more art rock like Genesis and Pink Floyd. But then I got more into early alternative bands like U2, Talking Heads, the Clash, etc. Then the Cure became my favorite band for several years. Jane's Addiction was my next favorite. But when SD came out, I knew on first listen that I had finally found my band. It kind of blended everything I liked and took it to the next level. No stupid lyrics, no lame cliches. Just pure awesomeness. Then came PI and the discovery that their B-sides were better than pretty much any band's regular albums except Nirvana. (But it blew Nivana's b-sides release away.)
I actually listen to MCIS and Adore more than SD as I kind of wore those songs out in my mind. But SD is my favorite album of all time.
