Song of the Day - A Girl Named Sandoz
Technically a cover, but SP always does amazing, unique versions of cover songs. This one has always been one of my fav's. They lyrics are just fun and the sound is wild and monstrous. Who wants to meet this girl?

I changed the title of the thread to "Spotlight Song" instead of "Song of the Day" because I'm not doing this every day.
So anyway, the current song is Because You Are.
Not exactly a fan favorite, but I always liked it because of its unique sound. And it also kind of reminds me of something that could be on a James Bond soundtrack. It's a cool, dark Adore-era song that didn't make it. I like the darkness of it. Haunting, accusatory, perhaps somewhat vengeful, lost and sorrowful - but not in the sort of sad, mopey way a lot of SP songs are, but in a sort of wild, fevered despair, the kind that will perhaps move you to extremes. And the jungle war-drums in the middle are awesome.

^^The Pumpkins just have so many awesome songs โฅโฅโฅ
"Because You Are" is sort of hypnotic in my opinion...

I could see this song being in an odd movie that is more like a documentary about culture

Ha. My absolutely least favorite Pumpkins song of all time. Different strokes . . .

Sounds like something of the Machina era to me...

That's The Way (My Love Is)
Good, solid Zeitgeist era song. I love how the video has the complete touring band in it. It really was a great line up. I feel like they were "meant to be." Meshed well. The video is kind of half-way serious. It's kind of a cool concept about communication in a digital age, but also has some goofy visual effects as well. I feel like it would have been better without the goofiness, but at the same time, it's sort of amusing.

Gonna archive and close this thread, since the "SP-Land songs you've always loved..." thread fills the same function, and is more open to other members. So basically, if you want to see a song on the front-page of the Shadowland website, just post it in that thread and I'll put it there for a day, in sequential order.
