Eichmann was not Iago and not Macbeth, and nothing would have been farther from his mind than to determine with Richard III 'to prove a villain.' Except for an extraordinary diligence in looking out for his personal advancement, he had no motives at all… He merely, to put the matter colloquially, never realized what he was doing… It was sheer thoughtlessness Ridiculous, foolish quote from a philosopher who couldn't grasp true callous evil, and couldn't accept that some of us are pure evil. Eichmann was always an anti Semite. Before he was promoted to Lt.colonel he was head of The Department of Jewish Affairs and even taught himself how to speak Yiddish so he could understand his "enemy" better. He was at the infamous Wannsee Conference in 1942 and was instrumental in drafting the "Final Solution" to "The Jewish Question". "Had no motives at all"? He was motivated by pure hatred, and eliminating as many Jews as he could was his lives work. "Never realized what he was doing"? He had a mechanical, precise knowledge of how to go about his extermination agenda.

Feels like the war is grinding to a bloody stalemate but could also just explode into something bigger any day.
The latest thing seems to be the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad having goods blocked by Lithuania, per EU regulations. Russia no happy and people in Kaliningrad are panic buying now.

Ran across a Ukrainian lady in the park the other day, she was selling items to get donations to go to helping Ukraine....turns out we have many of the same friends and acquaintances.
But anyway, we got to talking with her and she said many Americans come by and are like, "oh, the war is still going on over there? I thought it was over!"
Just...wow.
They stopped talking about Kyiv being attacked and the war shifted to the east, and everyone forgot about it. Good grief.

I'm hearing there is a Chechen battalion wanting to start a third Chechen War down in Russia's south. Would be perfect timing and take troops away from Ukraine to have to go put that fire out, too.

I stopped paying attention after seeing billions going to this war while our own country gets fucked over. Sick of all this bullshit war money making scheme.

Unfortunately, the history of the world is based in war.

It's really sad.
Lots of hypocrisies and ironies, of course. Both sides.
I understand the aggressor's viewpoint to some extent, but ultimately I support Ukraine and its territorial integrity and right to defend itself. The war was a huge blunder by Putin, in every way. Unfortunately, it's affecting the whole world.

House intelligence committee put out a warning saying do not take DNA tests. Something about biological weapons could be used against certain people. This could've went in the covid thread 🤷♀️ mRNA vaccines, 23 and me, nasal swabs for covid testing, it's all risky.

Good remark from your side btw, even though I disliked the choice of your name, I must admit But isn't absolute indifference (towards life & a living thing) = Thoughtlessness (in the most radical way)= absence of any emotions (think of a psychopath/narcissist)= lookout for personal advancement only (which is narcissism) = the cause of doing pure evil? ? ? ? I do think that absolute evil is banal, since it is based on trivial, base urges. It is not necessarily only bloodthirsty (MacBeth). It is the absence of all feelings, especially empathy, the absolute lack of emotion, a man-machine whose goal is to feed itself and keep itself alive. Every other form of life appears to it inevitably as hostile and must be "eradicated". That is a component of this banality. Instead of a knife or a gun, Eichmann used a stamp and a signature to kill millions of people (Jews)... his murder weapon was bureaucracy. In this, the Holocaust was and is still unprecedented. Feel free to come back and we'll talk about Hitler, the Holocaust - I once did a PhD on it - primarily on art policy in the Third Reich.

Is Taiwan next? Will we finally have our third world war? Any bets/bats? Anyone? I'd wager Taiwan is next, yes. Kinda now or never. Things haven't been this tense like....ever. And they probably won't get a better opportunity. Very possible an invasion could happen before the end of this year. We'll see. I mean...either China means what they say or they don't.

Well - I think 2023 is gonna be a rough year with the war. Russia seems like they're gearing up for a new assault, possibly another attempt on Kyiv.
Looks I like I was wrong about Taiwan being invaded in August, tho. But who knows what the future may hold.

Russian news source but from what I've read from other sources, this is legit news. We may be helping to send specific weapons to take Crimea, and Russia's getting tired of pretending this isn't a proxy war with NATO. www.rt.com/news/570108-us-ukraine-crimea-strikes/

I watched redacted news. Definitely am aware of the situation, saw an update yesterday. Everything is a mess, hoping for better this year, but doesn't sound like it's going to get better. So many people are just oblivious to what's going on.
