Just finished the semester...got an A in Advanced Human Resources, A in Public Safety Management Systems, B in Law Enforcement in America....signed up for 2 business related classes for the summer semester, which starts sometime in May, ends in July sometime. I am currently enjoying the breath of fresh air that comes with the brief respite between semesters. It's amazing that I don't have anything school-related to do....sweet freedom, though only temporary.
Other than that, working on our garden in the back yard. Dug out a few bags of free mulch that was offered from our city's botanical garden, it's good stuff. Planning on expanding the garden soon, but so far it's blueberries, cucumbers, bell peppers, chives, green onions, dill, italian parsley, cilantro, tomatoes, and our peach tree in the front. I think there are plans to plant some watermelon and corn and probably some squash. Back to the peach tree - it's got a lot of peaches on it this year, but the leaves are having some kind of plant fungal problem that is really hard to fix. And it's a young, baby tree. Only a foot or two taller than me.
I'm still working on my Terry Goodkind book, Naked Empire. I started it months ago, but I haven't gotten far because of school and other life stuff, and I don't read every day or even every week when I'm distracted. It's an okay book, but Terry Goodkind, for the past few books, has lost a good bit of the magic he had at the beginning of the series, so it's a bit disappointing. I'm still on board for the characters, but that's about it.
This weekend my city has an arts festival called Panoply. It's an all-weekend thing downtown. Tonight, I'm at work, but Olga and Christopher went and saw fireworks there, and we have plans to all go together this Saturday afternoon before I have to go to work again. Should be fun.
I'm working on trying to become a more moral and upright person, also. There are certain laws/commandments I know I need to be more obedient to, especially if I want to advance with my family spiritually within the Church. It's a big deal, actually. I just have to do it and make sure I'm doing the things I need to do regularly to keep myself motivated and organized. It's a lifestyle to pay your tithing, fulfill Church-related duties, attend Church regularly, and obey all necessary commandments to be in "good standing," i.e., worthy to go into the temple - and the stuff related to the temple and how it relates to you and your family is what the Church is really all about. So, yeah, I'm working on that.
We're also trying to have another baby, in the near future hopefully.
And it looks like I'll be training a new recruit at work soon.
Thaz about it....howzabout u guise?

Thats great that you are taking steps to become a better person. Ive been thinking on how to do that myself. It would be nice for me to find that in religion, but anything religion or God related drives me into utter madness. I try to simply not harm anyone but I dont think this alone makes for a good person. My mind is such a mess that I really have no idea how to help my fellow man. I can barely help myself at this point. This winter was terrible, I have some extremely difficult religious/spiritual crap in my head. Ive come to a stable place these past two months and I try not to think about all the hell I went through but its hard, because its directly related to religion- and everyone in my family is very religious. On the other hand I have a number of friends that I hang out with but I dont agree with their lifestyles well enough to be considered one of the gang. I dont judge them, I just dont partake in their language and habits. Anyway Im rambling...

becoming a more moral person really is hard, because you're fighting ingrained vice, which is habitual and second (or first) nature.
to keep myself motivated, i know i need to focus on vastly improving my prayer life. when i do pray, it's sincere and meaningful, but i don't do it regularly. i used to, but that was a long time ago. i need to get in the habit of that. i also need to get back in the habit of reading the scriptures daily. doing those things will help spiritually energize me to have the strength of mind and determination to do the other things. also, paying tithing will be a big help, i know. it will essentially be a financial investment in my continued morality. you have to pay tithing to be able to go into the temple, but other things can disqualify you too. if you are paying your tithing, but doing other things that disqualify you, it's like, why in the world are you paying your tithing then? So in order to make paying the tithing "worth it," it's an incentive to be more righteous in other areas of your life.
that's good that you don't judge other people. "judging" is always a funny concept though. a lot of people grapple with it. we all "judge," and to an extent and in the right context, i think it's okay, even proper. but there is a certain type of "judging" that we are not supposed to do as well.
i think God smiles on you and loves you, mskied.

Id love to say I know the mind of God and this is what God wants of us. I cant say that. Some people throughout history have been able to say this, but I do not know them personally. Ive pursued that role and its driven me to madness, so I conclude that we are not meant to know the mind of God, and why should we?
This doesnt mean that I reject morality, or that I have no concept of right and wrong. I do not steal or engage in violent actions and I do my absolute best not to harm people with word or deed. I really dont know what else should be expected of us. Id like to grow further into being a charitable person by volunteering my effort and finances, but this is difficult right now for me. When the day comes that there is one religion for all people I would feel comfortable in joining it, but I dont see the day coming that all peoples will agree on what is right and good.

Working a lot and finally moved into my own place. It's very nice for my first apartment. Last night was my first night sleeping here too. Don't have any furniture or a bed, but someday that will accumulate. Need to go grocery shopping and move my dresser. I have no closets :/ but an artroom & my kids have a room so yay!

Been kind of busy the past week or so. Just work and family. Nothing major but just busy. That why I haven't been in
Pretty excited about the Floyd Mayweather fight this weekend. I'm driving over to Tulsa with a buddy to watch it at the movie theatre. Pumped!

I too try to be the best I can be, though I am not serious all the time (I do laugh at silly things and can be silly myself) I also try to not do harm, when I question things or people, it is not to hurt anyone...not my intent anyway...but sometimes if someone does or says something that isn't in the best light, I tend to question it, especially if it is someone whom I respect...
